Here's what we're loving and living for this week.
1. We usually keep it simple on our nails, but these nail art ideas got us thinking that maybe we should branch out a little. Maybe we'll try one on our next manicure.
2. We know it's not new, but we've been addicted to Fixer Upper reruns on HGTV lately. We love Chip and Joanna's style and it inspires us to tackle some house projects of our own this summer. Stay tuned for more!
3. My husband made this One Skillet Lemon Chicken and Orzo this week and we couldn't stop eating it! It would be awesome with shrimp instead of chicken, too. Plus, who doesn't love a one-pot meal? (Especially when you're the one doing dishes like I am!) --J
4. Last night was the series finale of Scandal! So much for our Thursday tradition of wine, popcorn and Olivia Pope. If you're going to go through withdrawal without this show, then look back at this amazing retrospective of Olivia's amazing fashion sense!
5. GAP is running its Spring Sale with up to 60% off and an additional 40% off with the code HAPPY. If the forecast ever looked like it would warm up, we'd definitely be stocking up on some spring stuff!
6. If you're looking for a new comedy show to watch, try The Good Place! We recently caught up on this comedy and were sad to finish it off. It took a little while to click, but by the end, I loved the characters and was cracking up. The first season is on Netflix and you can find season two on NBC's site. --J

Spring Beauty Faves
As always, when the seasons change, we change up our beauty routines. This spring, we've been adding quite a few new products to our beauty lineup. Here are some of our new favorites!
Top Row (Left to Right):
Top Row (Left to Right):
- NYX #thisiseverything Lip Oil: We picked this super shiny lip oil after it was featured on Popsugar. The color is great and it's not sticky like many lip glosses.
- Julep With a Twist Mascara: After my favorite mascara ran out, I ordered this, hoping to love it. It has an adjustable applicator to add either volume, length or both to your lashes. As with most Julep products, I'm a fan! --J
- Pacifica Disobey Time mask: Rose is one of our favorite beauty elements lately and this mask is an easy way to incorporate it into your day. This mask will leave your skin glowy and moisturized.
- Essie TLC in Power Punch Pink and Indi-Go-For-It and spring polish in Bon Boyage: We're huge fans of the Essie Treat Love Color treatment polishes and these shades are perfect for spring.
Bottom Row (Left to Right):
- CO Bigelow Lavender Salve: This stuff reminds us of our favorite Rosebud Salve but has a springy lavender scent. Try it on your cuticles or dry skin, too!
- Bliss Spa Fabulips Lip Scrub: Bliss Spa recently relaunched their beauty products and you can find them at Target now (launching online on 3/18). This lip scrub is perfect for helping your dry winter lips.
- Garnier Facial Mist Spray with Rosewater: Another rose-based product, this spray is perfect for when your skin needs a little boost of moisture and freshness. Try it after a shower, after makeup removal or a workout. It would also be perfect for travel.
- Jo Malone London Peony & Blush Suede Cologne: I got this as a free sample with my recent Nordstrom order and fell in love. It's a little floral, a little flirty and perfect for spring. --J
- ELF x Christian Siriano Makeup bag: How cute is this makeup bag from this cool celeb collaboration?
What is your new favorite beauty product for spring? Let us know in the comments below!

TTO the Trend: Bright Lipstick
One beauty trend we've been noticing lately is bright lip color. We tend to stick to more neutral lip color but we love the idea of taking a little beauty risk on color choice. In fact, one of Jess's friends always rocks her brightest lip color on her most stressed out days, and she swears that it turns her day around. If you're feeling bold and want to give this trend a try, check out some of these picks!
Top Row (Left to Right): Julep It's Whipped, ELF Velvet Matte Lipstick, Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color, Clinique Chubby Stick
Do you rock bright lips? If so, what's your favorite shade? Let us know in the comments below!

Winter Beauty Must-Haves
Every season, we like to bring you our favorite beauty items. Here are some of our recent faves that have helped us get through the long, cold winter!
- I struggle with dry skin in the winter and that exacerbates the natural redness that I can have. This peel-off mask hydrates and smooths my skin while alleviating the redness. --J
- We are both obsessed with this Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair eye serum! Literally, after just a day of use, we could notice our under-eye area was smoother and softer. Within a few days, the lines and darkness were less pronounced than usual. It's a little pricey, but totally worth it!
- Even your hair can get a little dry in the winter, especially if you blow-dry or curl it like we do. This mask rehydrates dry hair and leaves it feeling smoother.
- We've already talked about how much we love this Julep Boost Your Radiance Rosehip Oil. Adding a couple of drops to your usual moisturizer can add a little glow to your dull winter skin.
- Exfoliating is one of the keys to having great skin in the winter. You need to get rid of the dead skin cells to make room for the softer new ones. We both use some version of this exfoliating brush with an exfoliating cleanser. Just make sure you finish up with a great moisturizer and serum.
- We both love darker nail polishes for winter. These are two of our recent favorites from Essie and CND shellac.
- We've put these eye gels into Friday Pick-Six but we had to mention them again here. Honestly, you can notice the effects right away after use. They're great to use right before you're going out or in the morning if you didn't get enough sleep.
- This lip balm was a stocking stuffer from our mom and we like how soft it makes our lips feel.
What beauty products are you liking this winer? Let us know what we should check out in the comments below!

Friday Pick-Six: 1/26/18
Here's what we're loving and living for this week!
1. We've mentioned how much we love the Essie Treat Love Color line. They provide color for your nails combined with a treatment to make your nails stronger. We often go to this after removing our shellac to help our nails get back on track. Essie has recently released a ton of new colors in this line and Essie Envy has a great review with swatches!
2. We have talked about our love for the Lilly Pulitzer Elsa blouse before, but we both ordered new ones at the After Party Sale this year! This is literally the most flattering blouse ever and we could wear them anywhere!
3. This chicken tortellini soup looks easy and delicious. If the weather is as cold where you are as it is at TTO Headquarters, you might want to give it a try!
4. These cord leggings are on super sale and still available in a few sizes! I bought them after the holidays and love them! The stretch is great and they're as comfortable as they are cute. Wear them to work with boots and a tunic sweater like me! -- J
5. How cute are these gingham flats at Target? Even though it will probably be a while before they make it into our wardrobe rotation, we may have to scoop them up this weekend on our weekly Target trip!
6. How cute is this ruffle bodysuit at JCrew on SUPER SALE! Ry has it and loves it! Also, all JCrew final sale is an extra 50% off with the code SAVENOW.

- To start off, lay your square out flat on the floor or a bed. Fold it from corner to corner to make a triangle.
- Hold the ends of the triangle in your hands. Place the scarf so the point of the triangle is down in front of your body.
- Take one end of the scarf and wrap it around your neck, tucking the end underneath the front of the scarf. Do the same with the other side.
- Adjust the length as needed so it's comfortable around your neck. There you go! If you're looking for more ways to style and wear a blanket scarf try check out Pinterest. There are tons of great tutorials like this one or this one!

Winter Nail Polish Picks
Each season, we like to give you our favorite picks for nail polish colors! Here are a few of the shades we are sporting this winter.
1. CND Shellac Midnight Swim: The first time Jess picked this for a manicure, she spotted it on another gal two seats over at the salon who said it was her "signature color!"This color is the perfect almost-black navy with a hint of shimmer.
2. Essie Gel Couture Model Clicks: We (particularly Ry) are suckers for a deep, dark red. We love the shiny finish of the Gel Couture line and this color is perfect for cozy winter weather.
3. OPI My Gondola or Yours: This black is perfect for wintertime. There's a bit of sheen to this color so it's not too goth.
4. Essie Sexy Divide: Jess discovered this color as a stocking stuffer this Christmas. We love the dark purple with a pinky-shimmer in direct light.
5. CND Shellac Winter Glow: Usually we stick with dark colors in the winter, but we love this clean light pink for a neutral look.
6. Essie Gel Couture Once Upon a Time: This new Enchanted Collection is so pretty and we love this not quite purple/not quite blue shade.
What's your favorite nail color this winter? We're always looking for new colors, so let us know in the comments below!

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Haul (In Real Time)
We hope our tips helped you score some great finds at this year's Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale. Here's a live-time recap of our experience!
12:02 AM: I checked the Lilly site one more time. The regular site and app are both down, so they must be getting ready for us! Trying to get some sleep, but it's more exciting than Christmas Eve! --J
4:32 AM: Okay, so I couldn't sleep and woke up, so I decided to check around on my phone. Looks like Zappos and Amazon have all their sale items up. I scored a Jennalyn dress at only $16 with the sale and a gift card from Christmas. --J
7:40 AM: Making coffee and getting breakfast for the kiddo at home for J and getting settled in at work for Ry. Hoping we can get in quickly and efficiently.
8:01 AM: The queue begins. We're each given a place in line. The times seem to be refreshing quickly, and the app is moving faster than the desktop site. We wait for a few minutes and focus ourselves!
8:10 AM: And we're in! We both get into the sale within about a minute of each other. We were both able to check out for the first time with Elsas, although there weren't many non-solid colors available. We decided to just go for it and check out and then plan on getting back into the sale.
8:28 AM: You guys, I'm back in and I decided to go for a dress this time. I wanted something with sleeves and in a blue/green color so I grabbed a DeLago Tunic Dress. --J
Meanwhile, Ryan grabbed a dress, too. How classic is this one?
8:47 AM: One more time back in and this time, and I was thinking of my kiddo when I snagged this cute swing dress. --J
10:00 AM: Decided to check again and bought this Stasia sweater. --R
2:32 PM: We both took a break for a little while (Ry for work, J for hanging with the kiddo and our Mom). Now we're thinking about a couple more things. Trying to decide if we need leggings, too.
9:30 PM: While watching Real Housewives of New Jersey, we scoped out the sale one more time. We noticed that they've added popovers and shorts! Ry decides to buy these Magnolia shorts, too.
THURSDAY 8:01 AM: There are still lots of great things left on the sale today. According to the Lilly site, the sale runs until tonight at midnight, so watch social media for any updates!
Have you guys been shopping the sale? If so, what did you score? Let us know in the comments below!

The Lilly Pulitzer January After Sale!
We love the preppy and pretty prints of Lilly Pulitzer, but not the price tags! That's why we get serious about the bi-annual Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sales. If you're already a Lilly shopper, then you know that these sales are no joke. Prices go WAY down and the internet loses its collective mind. We scored so many cute things back in August at the sale and are looking forward to many great deals next week.
This year's sale starts TOMORROW, January 3rd, 2018 at 8:00 AM EST SHARP! This time, the sale will run for two days, ending at 11:59 EST on Thursday, January 4th.
After several years of successfully shopping this sale, we've got a few tips and tricks that can help you score some great stuff!
- Preparation is key. A few days before the sale, log into the site (or create a login) and make sure your information is up to date. You don't want to be fiddling around on the site during the sale, trying to add your shipping address or billing information. You might find that items go out of stock as you are trying to check out, so time is of the essence. Traditionally, the site goes down a day or so before to prepare, so make sure you get everything set up early. Also, download the Lilly Pulitzer app for your phone, too.
- Get up early and get ready! On the day of the sale, you want to be up and ready to go right when the sale starts. Seriously, that first hour or two is craziness and you don't want to spend time starting up your computer or making coffee. About an hour or so before the sale, start up your devices and log in (see the next bullet) so that you're ready to shop.
- Multiple devices are a must! When the sale starts, you'll be put into a virtual queue and let into the site in order. Don't freak out if you are told some ridiculous number (like "You're number 45,000!"), things move quickly. Because you want to get in as soon as you can, you'll want to try to login on multiple devices or platforms. When we've shopped in the past, we've used two different browsers on our laptops as well as the app on our iPhones. Once you're in and shopping, keep an eye on your other logins, because you might have more success in one platform or another. Last year, we were able to check out in the app before online, but it's different every time.
- Choose your favorites and start there. We've talked about our love of the Elsa top and they go out of stock in a blink of an eye. If you want one, start there and if you have one in your cart CHECK OUT IMMEDIATELY. Don't waste time, just check out or you could lose your item (RIP, Elsa top in Red Right Return from Jess's cart in August 2014). In our experience, the Elsa tops and children's clothes go first, so start there if you're interested.
- Check out as many times as you need. Shipping is free, so if you have an item or two in your cart that you really love, just check out. You can always go back into the sale (you'll be put into the queue again, so keep that in mind), but checking out ensures you get the stuff you want. Things will disappear from your cart (they're not saved for you until you check out), so move quickly.
- Don't get too carried away! The prices will be low and it's easy to get swept away in the chaos. You might be tempted to grab items just because they're great deals, so it's easy to crush your budget. We usually set a dollar amount budget for ourselves ahead of time and stick to it. It might also work to set a limit on the number of items you want or the styles (i.e. one dress, one top and shorts).
- Don't forget other Lilly retailers. Lilly retail stores, Amazon, Zappos and 6pm will also be marking down Lilly items. Some of our best scores have come from these sources, so be sure to visit those sites. Sometimes they have different stock items on sale, or more color options so check them out. It pays to make sure your shipping and billing info is up-to-date here too, although things don't seem to fly out of stock quite as quickly.
- All sales are final. Final sale items cannot be returned, so make sure you want what you order. If you're interested in sizing info, check the Lilly site or Nordstrom, so that you can make sure things will fit properly.
So there you have it, our tips for one of the best sales of the year! We'll be checking in on Instagram stories on Monday to update you on our experience and our haul, so follow us there. Good luck and happy Lillying!

TTO the Wardrobe: Winter Wear
In our neck of the woods, January is pretty much the coldest month of the year! We are always looking for clothes that help us stay warm AND look cute in the winter. Here are some of our favorite cold-weather clothing must-haves.
- A few years ago, I asked for a new winter coat for Christmas because I was freezing outside with my class at recess. My mother-in-law (who is a retired teacher) picked out this awesome Lands End down coat. The extra length is perfect for keeping your legs warm and it's still thin enough that you don't feel like a snowman with it on! --J
- You know we love a good blanket scarf. They're a great extra layer to throw on and always add an air of French-girl-chic. If you're looking for tips on how to tie them, check this out!
- These Sperry boots will keep your feet warm and dry while you're shoveling or hustling to work.
- Cashmere gloves might seem like a splurge but these are a great deal!
- This hat is cozy and cute.

TTO the Product--Julep Boost Your Radiance
Hi all, it's Jess. A few weeks back, I purchased Julep's Boost Your Radiance Reparative Rosehip Seed Facial Oil. Overall, I'm happy with my skin, but I have some redness, a few fine lines and dryness in the winter. I was looking for a treatment that would keep my skin hydrated and address a couple of skin issues. This product gets great reviews and even the Duchess of Cambridge is a fan of rosehip oil so I thought this would be worth the try!
The oil comes in a small bottle with a dropper applicator. The directions suggest adding 1-2 drops of product to your skin after cleansing. You can also mix it with your morning and evening moisturizer and then apply. I chose to add it to my moisturizer directly for ease of application.
At first I didn't think that just a few drops would really make a difference. Even though I generally have dry skin, I was a little worried that my skin might freak out and be too greasy after applying oil to it. I added a couple of drops to my favorite night cream (Clinique Repairer Laser Focus Night Cream) and applied. There's a noticeable herby scent to the oil, but I didn't mind it. After application, my skin felt smooth and silky, but not greasy. I also had a slight glow, too. In the morning, I noticed that same glow and no greasy feeling.
I've been using this oil at least once a day for the last month or so and I can say that I have found a difference in my skin. I don't have a lot of fine lines, but I think my coloring has become a little more even and my skin is smoother than it usually is this time of year. Overall, I'm super happy with it and will continue to use it!
Would you try using Boost Your Radiance? Do you have any other favorite facial oils?

Friday Pick-Six: 12/15/17
Here's what we're loving and living for this week!
1. Since it's release last week, we've been watching season two of The Crown on Netflix. We're only about half way through (NO SPOILERS!) but so far, Prince Philip is NOT our favorite. Hoping to finish up the season this weekend.
2. Our cousin's adorable girlfriend and faithful blog reader (Hi, Kayleigh!) is having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party this weekend! We don't want to give our looks away just yet, but if you're looking for an ugly Christmas sweater, try Target! They just have everything, right?
3. We're big fans of stashing cookie dough in the freezer, but we never thought of this brilliant suggestion on Cup of Jo this week. Bring frozen cookie dough as a hostess gift! Your hostess can store it to enjoy later, or bake it off as an impromptu dessert! What a great tip! Plus that Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe looks like a winner!
4. We've talked about our love for Mrs. Meyer's Cleaning supplies before, but how about this Peppermint scented holiday hand soap? Love it!
5. I was looking to do a little holiday baking with the kiddo on our Snow Day this week, but I didn't want to get into mixing ingredients. Luckily, I grabbed a package of Betty Crocker Gingerbread Cookie Mix at Target last week. You just add egg and butter and you're good to go!
6. One of Ry's favorite things is the annual Haters Guide to the Williams-Sonoma catalog. We always crack up reading this!
What are you up to this weekend? Hope you have a great one!

Friday Pick-Six: 12/8/17
Here's what we're loving and living for this week.
1. This week, our family was in the mood for breakfast for dinner. We decided to try out this amazing Potato Tot Breakfast Casserole from Real Simple. It was easy, hearty and the leftovers held up great! I think this would be perfect for a holiday brunch, too. --J
2. We both love the look of shellac nails, but we hate trying to remove them ourselves. What a mess! Ry discovered these gel nail remover packets at (where else?) Target. You simply rip open the packet, stick in your finger and let it sit for 15 minutes. Much less mess than foils and cotton balls all over your bathroom!
3. If you're Christmas shopping for a kid, I found a great book this week. Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History by Vashti Harrison was a student-requested book I purchased for our class. It features 40 important Black women in American History (and adorable illustrations). It would be great for a little gal in your life who was in the 6-10 age range. --J
4. We've mentioned how much we love Julep before, but one of our current faves is the Eyeshadow 101. It's a crayon style eyeshadow with a smudge stick built in! Such a great add to your fast makeup routine!
5. Starbucks has their seasonal drinks out in full force these days, so we've tried a few new options. Just to change it up a little, we tried the Snickerdoodle Hot Chocolate this week. It was a little chocolatey, a little cinnamony and totally Christmasey.
6. At Target's Black Friday sale, I stocked up on pajamas for the whole family. I am in love with the plaid PJ set from Gilligan O'Malley I got for myself. It's so cozy and warm! --J

Friday Pick-Six: 12/1/17
Here's what we're loving and living for this week!
1. You guys, Prince Henry and Meghan Markle are engaged! We couldn't be more excited for another royal wedding. There's great coverage on People and Go Fug Yourself!
2. Speaking of the fantastic future Duchess Meghan, did you spot that wrap coat she wore in their engagement photos? How classic and beautiful. The actual coat is sold out and the manufacturer's site crashed this week, but how cool is this wrap coat Ry snapped up this week?
3. Earlier this week as I was getting through the flu (Ry and I both spent Thanksgiving week being totally sick), I wanted something cozy but work appropriate to wear to the first day back from vacation. I paired these herringbone leggings from Athleta with my favorite tunic sweater from Gap for a casual yet put-together look. --J
4. We've got an upcoming post to suggest our favorite nail colors for the holiday season, but we wanted to give you a heads-up on a perfect Christmas color! Jade to Measure from Essie's holiday collection has a little shimmer and is the perfect green!
5. If you're anything like me, your Elf on the Shelf has returned for the holiday season! If you're looking for some great ideas to set up your Elf in some fun ways, check out this post.
6. We each grabbed some of these Old Navy cozy socks at the Black Friday-Cyber Monday sale this week! Who doesn't like warm socks?
