Friday Pick-Six: 4/6/18

We took a little Spring Break last week, but we're back again!  Also, can you believe that today's post is our 200th post!  How crazy is that, right?

Here's what we're loving and living for this week!

1.  Today is our Aunt Margaret's birthday!  In her honor, we're linking to two favorite posts with some of her signature recipes, zucchini bread and no-bake cookies.

2.  As part of a recent Macy's Clinique gift-with-purchase, I received a sample size version of this Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.  My skin tends to be a little on the dry-side so I have loved their Moisture Surge line in the past.  I used this as a serum, before my day-time tinted moisturizer and night moisturizer.  I think my skin did feel a little softer and looked a little glowy.  Give it a shot! --J

3.  You couldn't tell it from the weather around TTO Headquarters, but spring is supposedly here!  We are looking at adding to our shoe collection for spring and love these colorful sandals!  They'd go with everything!

4.  Even though neither of us is looking to move any time soon, this post on Young House Love about how to style and stage your house simply was super interesting!

5.  You guys, Target has the most amazing new Beauty Boxes!  They're available online and in-store and each one focuses on a different beauty aspect.  Also, for just $7 you get an amazing variety of products!  We want them all!

6.  We recently started listening the GOOP podcast, presented by Gwyneth Paltrow and others from her Goop corporation.  There have been several interesting episodes--from an interview with Oprah (!) to a discussion of how hormones impact women and weight loss.  Check it out.

Friday Pick-Six: 2/23/18

Here's what we are loving and living for this week!

1.  On our President's Day off, we decided to move up our usual Taco Tuesday to Monday.  Jess made this crockpot barbacoa recipe and it was a total hit!

2.  While making an Amazon Prime order the other day, I added these beaded tassel earrings on a whim.  They're not the highest quality (hence the price point) but the color is great and they're not too heavy either. --J

3.  You know how we love a good face mask.  One of our recent favorites is this Pacifica Disobey Time Rose and Peptide Mask from Target.

4.  As much as we all love checking all our favorite blogs, I've been thinking a lot recently about trying to quit my phone habit.  I have found myself playing Monopoly with my kiddo and I mindlessly grab my phone and start to check Instagram.  Not my finest mom moment, but I think we can all relate.  Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere blogged about it this week and she also linked to this helpful article.  I'm going to give it a try this weekend and will report back! --J

5.  After seeing something similar on our favorite hostess at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, we've been on the lookout for a kimono-style jacket.  We may have to scoop up this one from Target. Throw under a black tank and some skinny jeans and you're date-ready.

6.  This Olympics, we were totally obsessed with Canadian ice dancers, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.  If you're like us and you can't get enough of them, then check out their 2014 reality show which is streaming on Amazon.  We might have to marathon this weekend!

Friday Pick-Six: 1/19/18

Here's what we're loving and living for this week!

1.  Last week, we saw I, Tonya and we can't stop talking about it.  We've been huge figure skating fans since we were kids, so we totally remember the whole incident very clearly.  In fact, we were volunteers at the 1994 National Figure Skating Championships in Detroit and we were at the venue just the day before Nancy was attacked.  Anyway, we thought this was an interesting and sometimes funny take on all of the drama.  Plus, Allison Janney is amazing!

2.  This is an awesome hair tutorial which highlights common mistakes we make when drying our hair.  We've all been guilty of some of these from time to time.

3.  We love listening to podcasts and our recent fave is called Keep It.  Host Ira Madison III takes on pop culture and politics in one podcast that is pretty darn funny.  We are constantly saying his catchphrase "keep it" about everything we are just done with!  Winter weather--keep it!  Check it out!

4.  I have never been a breakfast eater, so it's always a struggle to find something I want to eat in the morning.  Ry introduced me to this Kind Breakfast Bars which have 8 grams of protein!--J

5.  If you love The Crown like we do, you should try watching Victoria on Masterpiece on PBS.  Season 1 is streaming on Amazon Prime if you need to catch up!  Regular episodes air on PBS on Sunday nights.

6.  Speaking of royals, no matter what our mom says, we still love Meghan Markle and her fashion sense.  How about this bag she carried earlier this week?

Friday Pick-Six: 1/5/18

Here's what we're loving and living for on the FIRST Friday Pick-Six of 2018!

1.  For New Year's Brunch earlier this week, Jess made Smitten Kitchen's Monkey Bread with Cream Cheese Glaze.  How amazing does it look?  And it tasted as good as it looks!  Pro tip--you can assemble the whole thing all the way up to the rise in the bundt pan and let it sit in the fridge overnight.  Just make sure to set it out on the counter and let it come to room temperature before baking.

2.  In our stockings this year, our awesome mom gave us these adorable La-Ta-Da bracelet/hair ties.  How cute are they?  Also, with each purchase, La-Ta-Da donates to Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation's adolescent girls campaign that provides leadership training to girls around the world!

3.  If you have a Macbook and want to protect it (and look cute), try this hard case and keyboard cover I got from Amazon last week!  I love the rose gold color, but there are so many great options!

4.  It's an oldie but a goodie, but we got caught up in a Parks and Recreation marathon and that show totally holds up!  If you haven't watched it, you definitely need to binge it right now!

5.  Every New Year's Eve, we enjoy a meal of snacks and appetizers.  Most of the dishes change from year to year, but we always have these prosciutto and leek empanadas.  The Manchego cheese makes them extra special and they're even good leftover the next day.

6.  Are you guys watching the new season of The Bachelor?  We were kind of disappointed when Arie was chosen as the new Bachelor, but we have gotten sucked into this show once again.
